인정보다 진심을 More Than Recognition, A True Heart (골로새서 3:23–24)

한국 사람들은 눈치를 참 잘 봐요.

저도 그래요. 누구에게 민폐는 아닐까, 오해 사진 않을까,
늘 시선을 의식하며 조심조심 살게 돼요.

In Korea, we’re known for being incredibly perceptive of others.
I’m like that, too—constantly wondering if I’ve caused discomfort or been misunderstood.
Always watching, always cautious.

가끔은 이게 사회적 지혜 같기도 한데,
돌아보면 ‘사람에게 인정받고 싶어서’ 애쓴 날이 너무 많았어요.
잘 해도 오해받고, 진심을 다해도 인정받지 못하는 날들이 쌓이면
문득 지치고 괜히 속상해져요.

Sometimes it feels like social wisdom,
but honestly, I’ve spent so many days just trying to be approved by others.
Even when I give my best, I’m misunderstood—or worse, unnoticed.
And that slowly wears me out.

그런데 오늘 말씀을 묵상하다가
‘사람에게 하듯 하지 말고, 주께 하듯 하라’는 구절이
제 마음을 딱 잡아줬어요.

But today, this verse held my heart still:
“Don’t do it as if for people. Do it as if for the Lord.”

맞아요.
사람은 늘 변하고, 감정도 상황도 불안정하지만
하나님은 제 마음을 정확히 아시고, 변함없이 받아주시잖아요.
주님께 드리는 마음으로 산다면,
칭찬받지 않아도, 인정받지 못해도
오히려 더 자유롭게, 더 평안하게 살아갈 수 있을 것 같아요.

Yes.
People change. Their moods and situations are unpredictable.
But God knows my heart completely.
If I live as though offering everything to Him,
I won’t be swayed by praise or silence.
I’ll live lighter. In peace.

주찬이에게도 가르쳐주고 싶어요.
세상은 너를 계속 비교하고 판단하려 하겠지만,
진짜 중요한 건 하나님께 드리는 마음으로 사는 거라고.
그 마음이 너를 지키고, 평안하게 해줄 거라고.

That’s what I want to teach Ju-chan, too.
The world will try to compare and judge you.
But what truly matters is living with a heart that offers everything to God.
That kind of heart will protect you—and bring you peace.

주님, 사람의 시선보다
하나님께 드리는 마음으로 오늘을 살게 해주세요.
아무도 몰라줘도 괜찮아요.
주님이 아시고, 기뻐하시면 충분해요.

Lord, help me live today
not for people’s approval, but as an offering to You.
Even if no one sees, it’s enough that You know and rejoice.

🔍 관찰 / Observation

하나님은 우리의 마음의 중심을 보신다.
일상의 모든 일을 예배처럼 드릴 수 있다.
사람의 인정은 변하지만, 하나님의 기쁨은 변하지 않는다.
God sees the heart.
Every task can become worship when done unto Him.

People’s approval fades—but God’s joy is steady.

오늘 내가 하는 작은 일 하나를 '주께 드리는 마음'으로 시작하기
누군가의 반응에 흔들릴 때, 속으로 ‘주님께 하듯’이라고 되뇌기
아이에게도 결과보다 중심을 바라보는 시선을 자연스럽게 나누기
Start one small task today as unto the Lord.
When shaken by someone’s reaction, quietly remind yourself: “As for the Lord.”
Teach your child to value the heart more than outcomes.
